Washington DC
Washington DC, July 2017
On my way from one job to another Google Maps, brought me through DC as the fastest route. I decided to make an evening of it and walk around all the touristy areas downtown. I had seen a few before but thought I would take the opportunity to take some photos of the iconic American Monuments.
Lincoln
“Do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?”
Abraham Lincoln
Washington
“Be not glad at the misfortune of another, though he may be your enemy”
George Washington
King Jr.
“I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality… I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.”
Martin Luther King Jr.
White House & Capitol
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority…”
I Timothy 2:1-2A NLT
The Treasury
“Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.”
Romans 13:7 NLT
That Red Though
I didn’t have lots of time while in D.C. but I tried to get some shots here and there of the monuments and famous places in the city. I wish I had more time to get more shots like this. Walking the streets there’s so much that pops from the rest of the brick and cement. I couldn’t stop staring at this one as I walked back to my parking spot before my meter ran out.
